SBDTA RANKING SYSTEM

(Updated 8th August 2013)

  1. The SBDTA Ranking System takes effect anew from 1st January of each calendar year.
  2. Ranking points will be awarded and accumulated from 1st January to 31st December of the current year.
  3. No change of partner is allowed. In the event of a new partnership, the couple will be ranked anew for that current year.
  4. Ranking points will be awarded to SBDTA Ordinary/Associate Members competing in the SBDTA endorsed competitions.
  5. Ranking points will be awarded to SBDTA Associate Members who comply with the age limits specified by the SBDTA and NOT the organizer of the SBDTA endorsed competition.
  6. Ranking points will be awarded for participation in SBDTA endorsed competitions from the date which the SBDTA Ordinary/Associate Members join or renew the membership for that calendar year.
  7. SBDTA Ordinary/Associate member who fails to renew his/her membership before the competition date will not be eligible for the award of ranking points.
  8. Registered couples representing the SBDTA will be given ranking points in overseas dance competitions unless they have been advised otherwise by the Association.
  9. Registered couples who are Champions in the same dance discipline can only be ranked top in no more than one categorised level ( Eg. Amateur & Amateur Rising Star).
  10. To qualify for the SBDTA Award and Cash Incentives, the SBDTA top couple must compete in at least three (3) SBDTA endorsed competitions within a calendar year.
  11. The highest ranked couple will receive the SBDTA award and cash incentives.
  12. In the event where one or more couples attained the same highest point in the same category, these couples shall share the award and cash incentives equally.

RANKING POINTS
Each member will be awarded an additional 2 ranking points for each category he/she participated.

RANKING RULES
Ranking points will be awarded to the SBDTA associate members complying the age limits stated herein.

SBDTA AWARD & CASH INCENTIVES

  1. To qualify for the SBDTA Award & Cash Incentives, the SBDTA couple must compete in at least three (3) SBDTA endorsed competitions within a calendar year (subject to SBDTA variable dependent amendment on the available competitions for the category that year).
  2. In the event where one or more couples attained the same highest ranking point for the same category, these couples shall share the award & cash incentives equally.
  3. The top ranked couples receiving the Award from the SBDTA must be present during the dance event organised by the SBDTA with the Award Presentation Ceremony in its programme. They may be requested to do a dance demonstration. The Award will be revoked, the monies/award returned to the SBDTA funds, if the couple is absent without valid reasons ( to be reviewed by the Management Committee).

SBDTA NOMINATION SYSTEM
(applicable for all Professional & Amateur competitions)

  1. To qualify for the SBDTA nomination in the year following the calendar year, the SBDTA couples must compete in at least three (3) SBDTA endorsed competitions within that calendar year (subject to SBDTA variable dependent amendment on the number of competitions available for the category that year).
  2. The couple eligible for nomination to invitations to compete in Championships by Affiliated Organisational Dance Bodies must have the partnership prioritised as follows:
    • Priority 1: both Singaporeans
    • Priority 2: one Singaporean & one Permanent Resident of Singapore
    • Priority 3: one Singaporean & one Overseas Member
    • Priority 4: both Permanent Residents of Singapore
    • Priority 5: one Permanent Resident & one Overseas Member
  3. If no couple is available for the nomination, SBDTA may at its discretion nominate couples from a lower category (eg. Senior) for a higher category competition in accordance to the selection criteria stated above.
